Increase Your Referral Sources and Make an Impact in the Community

By Emmy Pasternak, Outreach and Case Development Manager, LRIS

When a lawyer decides to join the panel of experienced attorneys through the Lawyer Referral and Information Service, their motivation is usually to increase client referrals and belong to a program that assists real people with real legal needs. But there are also other added benefits: LRIS outreach and marketing campaigns to attract clients help support an attorney’s own marketing efforts; the careful screening of cases for meritorious claims saves the attorney time and energy; and the LRIS, through its Fund for Public Service and through the fees it receives from attorneys, helps support the Justice & Diversity Center’s (JDC) charitable programs, including the Bay Area Minority Law Student Scholarship Program.

LRIS conducts a robust and diversified marketing program that combines internet, social media, print and person-to-person contact to increase awareness about our services. Attorney members are provided speaking opportunities through collaborative events such as San Francisco Small Business Week and brown bag lunches with the San Francisco Legal Professionals Association.

While fully aware of the extreme importance of this type of mass outreach, LRIS remains ever mindful of the value of individualized outreach. Through face-to-face meetings with city supervisors, contact with court offices, interaction with community agencies, and targeted mailing campaigns, we continue to offer the personal touch that online referral directories and listings simply cannot match.
We urge you to become a part of this highly valued service to the community. When you join, you enjoy the value provided by The Bar Association of San Francisco’s trusted source for referrals and you give back to under-served populations at the same time.

LRIS is a revenue generating program, the proceeds of which help to support JDC’s charitable programs.
