Yahoo! and Morrison & Foerster Volunteer to Boost Nonprofit Organizations’ Services

donate-buttonThe Justice & Diversity Center (JDC) joined forces with Yahoo! and Morrison & Foerster to support local nonprofit organizations.

The JDC clinic gave legal wellness assessments to six nonprofits that serve low-income Bay Area residents.

Morrison & Foerster began the day overviewing essential legal issues for participating attorneys, who all volunteered their time. Teams of lawyers and legal professionals then met with the nonprofits to evaluate their legal health. Yahoo! generously hosted and provided lunch during these working sessions.

The clinic was a great resource for the six nonprofits, which all provide vital and innovative services: nutrition education and urban gardening; children’s nature and mindfulness programs; comprehensive veterans’ services; violence and crime healing and prevention; recovery and support services for at-risk youth, veterans, formerly incarcerated, and people recovering from substance abuse.
