Joining is a great way to increase referrals in 2014

Looking to increase your stream of referrals this year? Remember that January is half-price membership time at the Lawyer Referral and Information Service (LRIS). Apply to become a member of one or more area of practice referral panels. The half-year membership fee is only $60 for BASF members and $135 for non-members. That’s only $10 per month for BASF members for six months of membership to the award winning, state bar certified LRIS. Start the year off right by providing yourself with a reliable source of new clients and something new to add to your website bio and LinkedIn profile.

Attorney Eric Toscano joined the Business Law panel in 2013 and here is what he has to say about that decision, “BASF’s Lawyer Referral and Information Service has been an invaluable resource for me since opening my law office last year. It has been the most consistent source of referrals for my firm, resulting in many new clients. I highly recommend LRIS to all attorneys – particularly those who are starting up a new practice.”

Immigration attorney Natalie Zhang has been a member of LRIS since 2007 and says, “LRIS is a wonderful program. It provides clients with a reliable source of experienced attorneys. It also gives attorneys an opportunity to work with diversified clients!”

Increasing your business and income are good New Year’s resolutions. Providing more clients with quality legal services and supporting BASF’s charitable programs make for an easy pairing of resolutions. Accomplish all of this by simply filling out the Attorney Application & Agreement, individual panel applications, paying the membership fee, and mailing the documents to Yvonne Ng, LRIS Membership Coordinator.

“I am relatively new to being a member of BASF’s LRIS but over the past nine months, I have found this membership to be both financially rewarding and professionally fulfilling. The staff has been extremely helpful in referring potential clients to me, I have been retained by clients with legitimate claims and most of all, it has been a pleasure to be able to assist people in need,” said Gregory L. Spallas, Esq., of Phillips, Spallas & Angstadt.

Each year LRIS receives approximately 50,000 phone and email requests for legal assistance. Through careful screening, the multilingual legal interviewers highlight the type of legal matter and whether the client’s needs are best addressed by a referral to an LRIS attorney or to a community agency.

The Bar Association of San Francisco’s Lawyer Referral and Information Service knows that you make a difference to the clients you serve, we make it easier by providing a steady stream of cases from the clientele you wish to represent.
